AfriMAB Dialogues: Shaping Sustainable Futures in Sub-Saharan Africa’s Biosphere Reserves
As the world faces the urgent challenge of biodiversity loss, UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme, through the African Biosphere Reserves Network (AfriMAB), is leading efforts to harmonize conservation with sustainable development. In this framework UNESCO is launching the AfriMAB Dialogues: Shaping Sustainable Futures in Sub-Saharan Africa’s Biosphere Reserves— aimed at exploring diverse strategies for enhancing biodiversity conservation and promoting sustainable development across the region.
This initiative will serve as a dynamic platform for sharing innovative approaches, fostering partnerships and networks, and promoting sustainable practices that support both ecological integrity and human well-being, contributing directly to the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
