Second Call for Proposals - “BERYT” (The Beirut Housing Rehabilitation and Cultural and Creative Industries Recovery)

Supporting the creative revival of Beirut's vulnerable practitioners

The UNESCO Regional Office in Beirut is launching a call solicitating individual cultural practitioners affected by the Port of Beirut blast to submit proposals for the development of cultural productions in the affected neighborhoods.
This emergency assistance is provided in the framework of project BERYT (The Beirut Housing Rehabilitation and Cultural and Creative Industries Recovery) funded by Lebanon Financing Facility (LFF) and administered by the World Bank.
Objective
This new call for proposals aims to reach the most vulnerable practitioners operating in cultural and creative industries as a matter of priority and assist them to revive their creativity through small emergency assistance grants.
The target is to provide grants to at least 45 individual cultural practitioners, on an availability of funds basis. Only proposals submitted by one or two practitioners will be considered eligible.
Three domains will be given priority in this second call for proposals:
1- Intangible cultural heritage
2- Literature and press
3- Heritage and tourism
Proposals for the following sectors will be considered depending on the availability of funds:
4- Performing arts
5- Visual arts include photography, fine arts and crafts
6-Audio-visual and interactive media

Application and selection process
In order to submit a project proposal, applicants should:
1- Carefully read the call for proposal document to understand its terms.
2- Download the electronic or word format application form. If you encounter difficulties in downloading the electronic application form, please contact the UNESCO Secretariat at the following address: cci-beryt@unesco.org .
3- Complete the application form in Arabic, English or French.
4- Prepare the requested supporting documents.
5- Sign and date the form.
6- Send the supporting documents and completed form (if using word format) by e-mail to cci-beryt@unesco.org.
The UNESCO Secretariat will confirm receipt of proposals by e-mail.
7- A Grant Approval Committee composed of an independent panel of experts will evaluate applications and decide upon successful candidates, considering the eligibility and evaluation criteria outlined in the call for proposal document.

Individual practitioners and entities are entitled to receive technical assistance to complete their applications.

A Grievance Mechanism (GM)
A Grievance Mechanism (GM) exists under the BERYT project with view to ensure that stakeholders have the opportunity to provide feedback, submit inquiries and requests for information, as well as submit complaints related to the project. Anyone who is affected by or has an opinion about the project may submit feedback, make an inquiry or request or complaint related to this project.
