UNESCO makes educational resources available to schools for emergency situations

For populations affected by emergencies and prolonged crises, education plays a crucial role by providing an immediate protective effect and offering a sense of normalcy, stability, and hope in difficult times. It also equips educational communities with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to facilitate preparedness and recovery.
Interventions in educational settings, such as socio-emotional learning, psychosocial support, and school safety, enhance this protective effect by incorporating essential approaches, models, and interventions to address emergency situations.
In collaboration with Chile鈥檚 Ministry of Education, UNESCO鈥檚 Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean has developed three thematic infographics to highlight the importance of these educational interventions in emergency contexts, as well as educational resources aimed at more effectively preparing educational communities for future disasters and prolonged crises.
