On 1 June 2023, Yemen deposited with the Director-General its instrument of ratification of the Second Protocol to the Hague Convention of 1954 for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict (The Hague, 26 March 1999).

In accordance with the terms of its Article 43.2, the Protocol entered into force to Yemen three months after the deposit of its instruments of ratification, that is to say, on 1 September 2023.
