SkillEd
SkillEd is a social enterprise that focuses on connecting 'hard to reach' groups in remote areas to practical (distance) learning and training. In believing that anyone anywhere should be able to learn and develop and that any local trainer/organization should be able to develop practical blended training approaches themselves, SkillEd offers an on/offline blended-learning platform that enables users to (co-)create, follow and download courses for offline use and sharing (via the SkillEd Android app). The platform is optimized for use in areas with limited, unreliable or no internet.
Active in over 18 countries with more than 35 local and international partners, SkillEd supports the training of 10,000’s of people currently, mainly small-scale producers, SME’s and young entrepreneurs. It is in SkillEd’s core principles as a social enterprise, to enable sustainable development in the broad sense. Therefore, the learning content focuses on development in soft skills, skills in agriculture or business development. Example subjects are Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), water management, improved farm management (soil, water, saline agriculture, crop, quality seed, organic farming etc.), inclusive finance, business development and scaling of your business, value chain development, soft skills etc.

The training course in detail
This learning package will be developed in the form of blended learning journeys, in which digital lessons will be integrated, including all necessary (digital) materials, like pictures, short explanatory videos, self-tests, assignments etc. A branded on/offline Android app can be used by the participants for self-paced, remote on/offline learning, preparation of the training, and follow up learning after each physical training session.
Intermediate and final tests can be integrated in the package. After the completion of the training and meeting the minimum standards for the final test, the participants will receive a certificate.
