Overview of the organization
GobLab UAI is the public innovation lab of the School of Government at Adolfo Ib¨¢?ez University in Chile. Its mission is to improve people¡¯s quality of life by transforming the public sector through innovation and the responsible use of data and AI. Through applied research projects, collaborative advocacy and training programs, GobLab helps the public agencies build capacities to innovate through data.
Project and activity overview
Ethical Algorithms Project: This is an unprecedented public-private alliance in Chile executed by UAI with funding from the IDB Lab and the Chilean R&D agency. Its purpose is to install capabilities and standards to incorporate ethical considerations into the design, procurement and development of artificial intelligence and automated decision making systems in state agencies, as well as into the formulation and development of these solutions by technology providers. It is part of the action plan of the National AI Policy. https://goblab.uai.cl/algoritmos-eticos/ Public Algorithms Repository: The platform serves as a digital hub that centrally compiles and displays information on AI and automated decision support systems developed and/or utilised by public institutions in Chile. The Repository publishes an annual report with the state-of-the art of these systems in Chile. https://algoritmospublicos.cl/
