World Privacy Forum

Overview of the organization
The World Privacy Forum is a respected Civil Society Organization and public interest research group focused on conducting in-depth research, analysis and training in the area of data governance, privacy, and ethics of complex data ecosystems, including in the areas of identity, AI, health, and others. WPF works extensively across multiple jurisdictions, including the US, India, Africa, Asia, the EU, and additional jurisdictions. For more than 20 years WPF has written in-depth, influential studies, including groundbreaking research regarding data ethics, AI governance and trustworthy AI, identity ecosystems and their impact and governance, including peer-reviewed work on India’s Aadhaar identity ecosystem which was cited in the landmark Aadhaar Opinion of the Indian Supreme Court. WPF’s most recent work focuses on global implementation of trustworthy AI and its governance across ecosystems and sectors. WPF also conducts training and education on data ethics, governance, and trustworthy AI with an emphasis on the development context. WPF co-chairs the UN Statistics Data Governance and Legal Frameworks working group, and is special advisor to the HDC board of the WHO. At OECD, WPF researchers participate in the OECD.AI AI Expert Groups, and have participated in negotiating the original OECD Recommendation on AI and its update. WPF research on complex data ecosystems governance, ethics, and data protection has been presented at the National Academies of Science, the Royal Academies of Science and others, including the Mongolian Academy of Sciences. https://www.worldprivacyforum.org.
