Ousmane Djibo, National Professional Officer "Improving education in the Sahel region" ¡ª Niger
The Improving Education in the Sahel Region project, initiated and funded by the European Union (EU), is being implemented by UNESCO to help achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) in 5 countries: Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania, Niger and Chad. The project has three components: i) teacher governance and management, ii) initial and in-service teacher training, iii) capacity building to design, implement, monitor and evaluate curricular reforms with a view to systemic alignment. The first two components are supported by UNESCO's Multisectoral Regional Office for West Africa (Sahel) and the third by UNESCO's International Bureau of Education.
