Successful Brazilian Experiences in Education for Refugees and Migrants in Brazil - Early Childhood Education
This video emphasizes early childhood education through the experience of the João Mendonça Falcão Municipal School of Early Childhood Education (EMEI), located in the Brás neighbourhood in the city of São Paulo, where migrant children of different nationalities are enrolled.
School activities are developed in the context of implementing the City Curriculum, the first in the world to integrate the development and learning objectives aligned with the 2030 Agenda, through a technical cooperation project by UNESCO in Brazil with the Municipal Department of Education of São Paulo (SME-SP). The video highlights the importance of this initiative. It shows how the inclusion of migrant students takes place in early childhood education through the reports of the children themselves, their mothers, teachers and representatives of the Technical Curriculum Nucleus of SME-SP and the Education Sector. of UNESCO in Brazil.
UNESCO in Brazil presents three videos on Successful Brazilian Experiences in Education for Refugees and Migrants developed within the levels of Early Childhood Education, Indigenous Education and Portuguese Language Teaching for Youth and Adults. Its objective is to disseminate best practices to reach the 2030 Education Agenda of letting no one behind by guaranteeing the right to Education in an inclusive way, according to the Sustainable Development Objective 4 (SDG 4).
