ALT Advisory is an Africa-based collective of public interest lawyers, researchers, strategists, communicators, and technologists, working at the intersection of human rights and technology.

ALT produces an ongoing research series focused on safeguarding fundamental rights in relation to artificial intelligence, particularly in African contexts. Recent outputs include a 2022 index of AI governance frameworks across 55 African states, applied research on testing data protection transparency requests for the use of AI for data profiling, and an overview of guidelines for AI impact assessments.
