DigiTruck

DigiTruck is an innovative mobile digital classroom initiative aimed at bringing digital skills to underserved communities. The project converts 40-foot shipping containers into solar-powered, self-sustainable classrooms equipped with laptops, tablets, and internet connectivity. These mobile units can reach remote locations where traditional infrastructure is lacking, providing free digital skills training to rural residents, teachers, young people, and entrepreneurs.

The initiative addresses the digital divide by offering courses lasting up to a month, focusing on expanding digital literacy in areas with limited access to technology and the internet. Since its launch in Kenya in October 2019, DigiTruck has provided over 40,000 hours of digital training to more than 1,500 rural residents. The projects success lies in its ability to overcome barriers such as lack of electricity and internet access, bringing educational opportunities directly to communities that need them most.
