Theatrical performance by Spazio Teatro No'hma 'Journey by sea and land in search poetry and beauty'
Viaggio per Mare e per Terra alla ricerca di Poesia e Bellezza is the show with which the Spazio Teatro No'hma Teresa Pomodoro in Milan, directed by President Livia Pomodoro, takes part of the Luanda Biennial (Angola) 2021 with the aim of telling and emphasizing the encounter between two cultures that are only apparently distant: the Italian and the Angolan.
It is a multidisciplinary project that brings together musical, poetic, symbolic suggestions, dance and live painting in the logic of intercultural dialogue through the protagonists of the new generation and freedom as awareness through the arts.
Celebration of AFRICA DAY 2021 - Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy (MAECI)
鈥樷橝 video to celebrate Italy鈥檚 relations with the Continent through Art鈥欌.
According to tradition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy (MAECI) celebrated in 2021 the 鈥淎frica Day鈥, to mark the anniversary of the establishment, on 25 May 1963, in Addis Ababa, of the Organization of African Unity, which changed its name to African Union in 2002.
This year, due to the pandemic, the Ministry has created a 鈥渧irtual exhibition鈥 aimed at showing to the general public some of the main works of art from Africa displayed both in international museums and in Italy. The event was sponsored by the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM).
The artists involved in this project celebrating 鈥淎frica Day鈥, and the partnership between Italy and Africa, represent different modes of expression but are in some way connected to the topics addressed at this year鈥檚 G20 meetings, of which Italy held the Presidency: environmental sustainability, peaceful conflict resolution, migration, respect for women, harmony and balance in community living.
COP26: TOWARDS MILAN AND GLASGOW, A SEMINAR IN ANGOLA ON 鈥淓COLOGICAL AND DIGITAL TRANSITION AND CLIMATE DIPLOMACY鈥
The seminar, which was also live streamed, consisted of two thematic panels dedicated to Climate Diplomacy and Digital and Climate Inclusion, attended by the two young representatives of Angola at the Youth4Climate event (Erica Tavares and Nicolau Miguel), representatives of the local Ministry of Environment, personalities from the academic world, as well as representatives of local NGOs and start-ups engaged in the fight against climate change and ecological transition. This was followed by an interactive debate among the audience, mainly composed of young university students from the main universities in Luanda.
On the sidelines of the event, a photography exhibition was organized showing shots taken by an Italian photographer living in Angola, on the impact of climate change for the traditional activities of the Angolan people in various of the country鈥檚 provinces.
At the end of the seminar, the Italian Ambassador and the British Ambassador, together with a group of 15 students from Luanda鈥檚 secondary schools, visited a local waste treatment plant. The aim of the visit was to convince the young people on the importance of proper waste management and the adoption of virtuous behaviour, at individual and community level, in order to provide an effective contribution to the process of ecological transition.
XXI Week of the Italian Language in the World, dedicated to Dante Alighieri
On the occasion of the XXI Week of the Italian Language in the World (XXI Edizione della Settimana della Lingua Italiana), dedicated to Dante Alighieri, the Italian Embassy in Luanda organized on 28 October, the screening of a pi猫ce de th茅芒tre "From Hell to Heaven - a musical journey in the Divine Comedy", inspired to the monumental work of the father of the Italian language and performed by the Bel Canto Ensemble company. The play combines in an original way the most famous verses of the Divine Comedy with a selection of the most famous symphonies of great Italian composers (Verdi, Rossini, Boito, Bellini), accompanying the audience on a unique journey through the Dante's universe.
