Presentation
Cambodian Living Arts, a non-profit organization committed to preserving and reviving endangered performing arts, proposes to: 1) create an independent association to enhance civil society participation in policy making; 2) strengthen civil society participation in policy-making decision; and 3) conduct a research on the contribution of the cultural and creative industries (CCIs) in Cambodia.
How does this project contribute to the implementation of the 2005 Convention?
- Reinforces the role of civil society in cultural policy making and implementation - The project will provide civil society with more tools and opportunities to work collectively, engaging and collaborating with national authorities.
- Strengthens processes and mechanisms for public policy making and implementation - The project will provide quantitative data to enable the creative industries to advocate for supportive policies that address their needs.
Main activities
- Creat an independent association with a membership-based model to represent CCIs in Cambodia.
- Organize two Annual General Meeting (AGM) to define priorities and projects to be implemented.
- Create a dedicated website to gather all relevant information on the CCIs.
- Establish Living Arts Fellows programs to provide mentoring and promote exchanges.
- Provide peer-to-peer learning to bring tools and knowledge to the association on policymaking and advocacy activities.
- Conduct data collection based on indicators approved by the steering committee of the association.
- Present an analytical report including recommendations at the AGM and publish it through the website.
