Biography

Aleksandra is a research advisor at the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO) in Zagreb (Croatia) and Head of the Department for Culture and Communication. She holds a PhD (2003) in information science from the University of Zagreb and has 30 years of experience in the area of cultural research related to issues of digital culture and cultural policies. She has participated, and coordinated IRMO team, in a number of EU funded research projects. E.g. she has been  leading the IRMO research team in the project 鈥淩apids and Backwaters. Adapting Fast and Slow to a Digital Cultural Turn鈥 (2020-2023) and H2020 project SoPHIA - Social Platform for Holistic Heritage Impact Assessment (2020-2021)  Presently she is contributing to the HORIZON EUROPE project 鈥淐resCine - Increasing the international competitiveness of the film industry in small European markets鈥. Aleksandra also coordinated an expert group providing cultural policy related expertise to European Parliament (2010-2015). Aleksandra鈥檚 publications revolve around cultural policies in the digital environment, international cultural relations and the involvement of women in cultural and creative industries.
