Dahlia Harris
Biography

As thespian, Dahlia Harris is a multi award winning writer, actress, songwriter, producer and director, starring in close to 30 productions since her first commercial play in 2000. She has written, directed and produced over 15 full length plays. Her work in theatre has earned her a place in the Caribbean Hall of Fame, the Bigga High Achievers Award as well as the Flair Magazine Distinguished Woman Award. She is the convenor of the Jamaica Women in Theatre Festival. Ms. Harris is also showrunner and lead actress in Jamaica’s top ranked television dramas Ring Games and Thicker Than Water as well as the short series Love and Dancehall. A 29-year media veteran, she has worked in print, radio and television. Her career began at Power 106 FM where she produced entertainment and business programmes. She then transitioned into a marketing career at The Gleaner Company as a Senior Account Executive before heading to JBC now Television Jamaica (TVJ). Dahlia presently co-hosts Jamaica’s number one television morning show Smile Jamaica it’s Morning Time and the immensely popular afternoon radio programme Too Live Crew on RJR94FM. A first-class honours graduate of the University of the West Indies, with a double major in English and Media and Communications, Dahlia also holds a Master's Degree in Communication for Social and Behaviour Change. She is currently a Ph.D. Candidate, Institute of Caribbean Studies.
