
Jordi Baltà Portolés works as a consultant, researcher and trainer in cultural policy and international affairs. He has a particular interest in the role of culture in sustainable development, cultural diversity, cultural rights, local cultural policies, the governance of culture, and international cultural cooperation. He collaborates regularly with Trà nsit Projectes, a cultural management company based in Barcelona, and he is also an expert for the Culture Committee of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG). He has been a member of the Expert Facility for the UNESCO 2005 Convention on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions since 2011, and served as Principal Editor of the 2022 UNESCO Global Report Re|Shaping Policies for Creativity. He teaches at the Degree in International Relations of Blanquerna – Universitat Ramon Llull (URL), the MA in Cultural Management of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) and the University of Girona (UdG) and other postgraduate courses. He holds a BA in Political Science (Autonomous University of Barcelona) and a MA in European Cultural Policy (University of Warwick), and is a PhD candidate at the universities of Girona and Melbourne.
