Biography

Lilian is a lawyer, accredited mediator, and researcher in international law. Lilian has extensive experience in the cultural and creative industries from both a legal and commercial point of view. Professor in charge of the course 鈥淐ultural diversity and international trade鈥 and Project Director working on corporate sustainability strategies and culture at the University Paris Cit茅, her research and consulting focus on international economic law and international law on culture (UNESCO Conventions on culture), cultural policy, cultural rights, cultural and creative industries, digital technologies (including the discoverability of diverse cultural content online), cultural diversity in public and private sector sustainability strategies, the status of the artist, and intercultural communication, with a particular emphasis on the 2005 UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. Her most recent works revolve around cultural expressions in the digital environment and include, among others, 鈥淪treaming Platforms and Profiling 鈥 Risks and Opportunities for the Discoverability of Diversified Cultural Content鈥 (2023). Lilian is a member of the Support group for discoverability of the OIF (鈥Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie鈥), a member of the UNESCO Reflection Group on the diversity of cultural expressions in the digital environment and is among the arbitrators and experts in trade and sustainable development for the European Union鈥檚 trade agreements.
