
Pedro is a Brazilian Berlin-based musician, consultant, and trainer working across the cultural, creative and cooperation sectors. For over a decade, Pedro has delivered services to International Organisations, Governments, Cultural Institutions and artists, around Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, Portuguese-speaking countries and Europe. As a former UNCTAD consultant, Pedro also has extensive experience on the ground, leading missions, mapping, designing, and implementing policies and programmes to support the cultural and creative industries to diversify economies, create jobs, increase exports and improve working conditions, as developed in Angola from 2019 to 2022. Pedro has also created training modules and given workshops online and offline for policymakers, cultural managers, and artists, as in the case of Culture and the SDGs enhancing creative cross-sectoral collaboration 鈥 Culture and Sustainability Lab / EUNIC, Ciclo Sinergia Criativa for the Chilean Government, and Siena Cultural Relations Forum 鈥 EU Cultural Relations Platform, all developed in 2023.
Major recent research includes "The Impacts of COVID-19 on Brazil鈥檚 Cultural and Creative Industries for UNESCO, the 鈥淐ultural and Creative Industries Supporting Activities in Sub-Saharan Africa: Mapping and Analysis鈥 (2020) for IFA and the German Foreign Office, and The Missing Foundation: Culture鈥檚 place within and beyond the SDGs, for the British Council. Pedro holds a Master鈥檚 degree in International Relations and Cultural Diplomacy from Furtwangen University, Germany. He is actively engaged with community-led organisations, as one of the directors of 鈥淥 Galo da Madrugada鈥.
