In 2015 the uae issued federal decree law no. 2 of 2015 on combatting discrimination and hatred, the aims of which are to provide legislative ground for creating an environment of co-existence and acceptance, and fighting discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, color, ethnic origin, religion, caste or doctrine. the provisions of the decree are applied on the internet, telecommunication networks, electronic websites and in audiovisual materials among others, thereby protecting individuals, including artists and cultural professionals from discrimination in the digital environment.
