Description of the policy/measure
Following an initiative of the ministry of education and culture in 2011 the project was consolidated with the financial support of the spanish agency for international development cooperation as part of the national directorate of culture and started work along the following lines: census and assessment of museums in uruguay, training of museum staff, practical training in institutions abroad, security of museums under mec responsibility, publications and development of the uruguayan museums homepage (www.museos.gub.uy), museums act and creation of the national museum system (bill under debate), promotion of the creation and development of museum networks
