Description of the policy/measure
The ukrainian institute is a new state institution, established in 2017 under the  ministry of foreign affairs in order to represent ukrainian culture internationally, support international mobility and facilitate professional exchange, support international cooperation projects in creative industries, culture, education and science. the ukrainian institute is envisaged to become an important tool for ukrainian cultural diplomacy through ensuring presence of ukraine on the international cultural stage, in the international projects in the area of culture, education, science, and social life.the ukrainian institute should move in a few directions. the first one is to reach out to non-ukrainians who live abroad, to help the world get knowledge and comprehension of ukraine. several programs are envisioned to accomplish this, some of which are practiced by similar institutions like the british council, goethe institute.eventually, international travel grants and art residencies will be awarded, exchange programs and research projects will be funded. close cooperation with the ministry of education and science will enable the ukrainian institute to teach ukrainian and offer certification in order to develop a model for language schools abroad.

It is expected that the ukrainian institute will promote today’s ukraine—a modern european dynamic state. the institute will also endeavor to challenge untrue stereotypes about ukraine. it is highly likely that the ukrainian institute will have its divisions abroad, constantly extending the network. the main results of the activities of the ukrainian institute should lead to the internationalization of the ukrainian culture
