It took important decisions on the future activities of the Intergovernmental Committee for the 2020-2021 period and elected 12 new members to the IGC. It was preceded by the 2nd edition of the Civil Society Forum to the 2005 Convention.

The Parties approved revised guidelines on “Information Sharing and Transparency” and reviewed the new quadrennial periodic reports of the Parties to the Convention, as well as the report on the state of the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD).
