rainwater

This technical cooperation project was designed to provide the Federal District Water, Energy and Sanitation Regulatory Agency () with technical and institutional capacities to assist the Federal District Government in preparing, implementing, monitoring, and assessing the 8th edition of the World Water Forum. The 8th Forum took place in Brasilia in March 2018. Its objective was to discuss solutions related to water management in the face of climate change in megacities in the Latin American and Caribbean regions. In addition, the project is a vital component of environmental education for water in the Federal District's socioeconomic, cultural, and environmental context.

Several ADASA publications and the main results of the Environmental Education and Water Education Programmes and projects marked the legacy of the 8th World Water Forum. After the Forum, ADASA became a member of the World Water Council. The project has also supported the development of strategic studies, training, and communication of the agency as the regulatory body of the Federal District in its various specific areas, such as basic sanitation, urban drainage, solid waste management, and hydrological inspection and monitoring systems.

Trilhas e caminhos para a sustentabilidade ambiental nas escolas do Distrito Federal: escolas sustentáveis

(The book is only available in Portuguese)

The book aimed at children and young people presents an excellent way to build a sustainable school by "training citizens" with skills to know themselves, their neighbours, and the planet of which they are part; interact with diversities and learn from experience; act with affection, respect, empathy, and cooperation; develop and involve life, with health, justice, and beauty. "According to the book, a sustainable school inspires, motivates, and prepares citizens to be educators and apprentices in their experiences and coexistence, interacting consciously and consequently in the personal development of their family, their community and their society in the different dimensions of their territory - body, house, neighbourhood, country, continent and planet Earth. It is a school for humanization."

Educação como instrumento de regulação: as experiências da Adasa

(The book is only available in Portuguese)

The book registers a specific relationship between a regulatory body, ADASA, and the population. It shows that the mediator of this relationship is education. The more significant the contribution of the regulatory body to inform and qualify users' knowledge about the services they enjoy, the more the regulatory body benefits from their qualified and well-informed participation. The effects of the educational process are beneficial to the participants, and the benefits grow according to the intensity of the interaction that this process provides.
