Advancing Quality Education and Lifelong Learning in Uzbekistan
UNESCO believes that education is a human right for all throughout life and that access must be matched by quality. The Organization is the only United Nations agency with a mandate to cover all aspects of education. It has been entrusted to lead the Global Education 2030 Agenda through Sustainable Development Goal 4.
UNESCO Office in Tashkent with its national partners implements a number of programmes and projects in areas of quality of education, improving curricula and supporting teacher training and the development of teaching materials, inclusive life-learning for all. UNESCO actively cooperates with the Ministry of Preschool and School education, Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and Education Sector Project Office.
UNESCO Office in Tashkent leads and coordinates the Education 2030 agenda through partnerships, monitoring and research in Uzbekistan. Our experts support Uzbekistan to develop education systems that provide quality lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Teachers who are well-trained, supported and valued are essential to ensuring quality education for all and meeting the education targets of the 2030 Agenda. For that reason, from 2024, the key course of action at UNESCO Tashkent office is to support the Teachers’ Professional Development, to support to improve learning outcomes and address the changes brought forth by the digital and AI transformation.

Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is critical to socio-economic development, and UNESCO Office in Tashkent had been promoting policy dialogue, capacity development, equipping learners with relevant skills to meet individual, labour market and societal demands. The TVET agenda is aligned with UNESCO Global agenda for TVET (2022-2029).
