UNESCO Cairo Office provided its support to the Contemporary Arts Exhibition organized by Art D’Egypte under the theme the "Value of Heritage” in November 2019. The leading artists put their inspirational exhibits on display at the selected historical buildings at “Historic Cairo”, one of the seven World Heritage Sites in Egypt.

To contribute to this Festival, UNESCO also organized a workshop with the youth from the community discuss youth-led actions to identify, safeguard and transmit their oral traditions, performing arts and other manifestation of ICH so that they themselves would become transmitters and protectors of their own heritage. Over fifty youth participated in this workshop.

The event of Art d’Égypte not only commemorated 40 years since its inscription of “Historic Cairo” on the World Heritage List but also the enduring testimony to the living heritage in the city.
