Award Ceremony of 2015 UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the Use of ICTs in Education

The award ceremony will take place in Room I on 13 January 2016 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm followed by a reception lunch. The event will be held in the presence of the Director-General, Irina Bokova, his Highness Shaikh Muhammad Bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Vice Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain and His Excellency Dr. Majed Bin Ali Al-Noaimi, Minister of Education of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

During this day a seminar on innovative practices of using ICTs in education will be organized from 9:00am to 11:30am and from 3:00pm to 5:00pm in Room IV. The two Prize Winners of 2015 and six former laureates will share their projects and discuss on how to leverage ICTs to achieve Education 2030.

Since 2005, the UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in Education has rewarded innovations in teaching and learning that leverage technology to improve educational outcomes. Funded by the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Prize reaffirms UNESCO’s work to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote Lifelong Learning opportunities for all and recognizes governments, non-governmental organizations and individuals that are embracing ICT as a pedagogical ally to make learning more effective.
