Call for Interest in Global Alliance on Media and Gender

UNESCO and partners call on all organizations working in the field of media, journalism, communication, and gender and media to express interest in a Global Alliance on Media and Gender.
If your organization is an NGO, CBO, association, network, training/academic institution, media organization, regulatory body (such as broadcasting commission) or media self-regulatory body, public or private entity, research institution, UN agency, funds or programme, national, regional and international development agency and your organization is involved in gender and media related activities or gender equality issues, whether online or off line, then this call is relevant to you.
This call is connected to the Global Forum on Media and Gender (GFMG) which will take place from 2 to 4 December 2013 in Thailand, Bangkok. This forum is a pioneering global event that intends to address gender equality and women鈥檚 empowerment in and through the media. A key output of the forum will be the establishment of a Global Alliance on Media and Gender which will coordinate systematic follow-up to one of the critical areas of concern of the and (BDPA), 鈥淲omen and the Media Diagnosis鈥.
The forum will foster debate, provide training, encourage the sharing of experiences and host a high level session, which will be informed by the consensus of all stakeholders, and which will design the Global Alliance for the 鈥淲omen and Media Follow-up鈥 of the and .
