In San José, December 1, 2014 was a great day of celebration for UNESCO. Joint festivities marking the Organization’s 70th anniversary, 30th anniversary of its Office for Central America, and the 65th anniversary of its Costa Rican National Commission took place at Parque La Libertad, San José. Organized by the Presidency of Costa Rica and the National Commission, the events were attended by President Luis Guillermo Solís.

"91Â鶹¹ú²ú¾«Æ·×ÔÅÄ a long history of working for peace and human development, which has impacted the lives of thousands of people around the world. It is an honor for the country to have a UNESCO office in Costa Rica, and we are pleased to be able to serve the Central American region in the struggle for the common good, in cooperation with  this prestigious organization," said the President.

The Costa Rican Minister of Education, Sonia Marta Mora Escalante, stressed the National Commission’s contributions, guided by the goals of peace and sustainable development, inclusive education, multicultural dialogue, and respect for diversity.
