Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Completion of the UNESCO Campaign to Save the Monuments of Nubia, organized at the National Museum of the Egyptian Civilization (NMEC), Fustat, 10 March 2020.
This Celebration was held with the participation of more than 200 delegates and representatives of the countries that contributed to the Nubia Campaign to pay tribute to this renowned Campaign as a best practice of international solidarity based on the understanding of the universal nature of heritage and the importance of its conservation and transmission to the future generations. The event at NMEC provided an opportunity for a renewed commitment of the international community to the importance of heritage preservation for sustainable development and for future generations through UNESCO's culture conventions and their implementation in Egypt. The celebration provided equal opportunity for men and women for participation. It is worth mentioning that this activity was implemented within UNPDF/Egypt: Prosperity group as it contributes to targets of Egypt 2030 – Pillar 8 on Culture.
