Jewellery has played an important role in human culture, dating back to Ancient Rome, Greece, and Egypt and indigenous peoples. Since, jewellery materials and production techniques have significantly evolved. As a facet of art, jewellery always tells a story, providing insight into the social and economic climate of its moment in history.

The global jewellery market has seen continuous growth over the past few years. In the Caribbean, there are many young jewellers and jewellery designers who draw inspiration from their roots to create pieces unique and captivating, as well as accessible and sustainable.

This online event then will convene Caribbean and European young creative jewellery designers to discuss how to tap into new markets and shed light on sustainable jewellery practices. The event will also showcase innovative products of young Caribbean creators.

Through this activity, Transcultura aims to promote knowledge sharing, develop professional networks and access to new markets for young Caribbean jewellery designers.
