Director-General calls on authorities to shed light on the killing of journalist Luciano Rivera Salgado in Mexico
Paris, 10 August鈥擳he Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova, today denounced the killing of journalist Luciano Rivera Salgado in Playas de Rosarito, in the Mexican state of Baja California on 31 July.
鈥淚 condemn the killing of Luciano Rivera Salgado,鈥 said the Director-General, adding: 鈥淚 urge the Mexican authorities to investigate his murder and shed light on the circumstances and motives behind this crime.鈥
The journalist, a TV presenter for local channel CNR and director of the online news portal El Dictamen, was shot in a bar in Playas de Rosarito.
