Director-General to Give Keynote Address at University of Ottawa
On 29 March 2016, the Director-General will give a plenary address at the University of Ottawa on Global Governance for the 21st Century during a conference focused on 鈥淐anada in Global Affairs: New Challenges, New Approaches鈥.
Co-organized with the Hague Institute for Global Justice, the Conference will bring together leading national and international experts in security and State fragility, the notion of a global community and just society, and the reform of global institutions to share their perspectives on effective governance in an interdependent era.
On 30 March, the Director-General will participate in a roundtable discussion on approaches and opportunities to increase inclusion and advance pluralism through education, hosted by the Global Centre for Pluralism, presided by Mr John McNee. The Centre, launched in 2006 through a partnership between the Government of Canada and His Highness the Aga Khan, works to advance respect for diversity worldwide.
The same day, the Director-General will discuss reinforced cooperation to address key global concerns in UNESCO鈥檚 areas of competence during a meeting and working luncheon with Canada鈥檚 Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr St茅phane Dion.
On 31 March, she will give a keynote address on education and gender equality at Harvard University (Cambridge, Massachusetts), in the context of the Askwith Forum, organized by the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
