Director-General on official visit to Singapore

UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova will undertake an official visit to Singapore from 30 May to 1 June 2014. She is expected to meet with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and other senior Government officials to discuss opportunities for broadening UNESCO鈥檚 cooperation with Singapore.

The Director-General will attend the World Cities Summit Mayors Forum 2014 and chair a roundtable on the topic 鈥淗igh Quality of Life: A Vibrant City Life,鈥 where she will highlight the importance of heritage for urban liveability and competitiveness. The World Cities Summit will bring together more than 120 city leaders, as well as heads of international organizations and captains of industry.

While in Singapore, the Director-General will visit the Singapore Botanical Gardens, Yueh Hai Ching Temple and the Pinnacle@Duxton, a model urban public housing project.
