Education for meaningful sustainability and regeneration

Gaia Education, a Key Partner of UNESCO’s Global Action Programme on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is featuring in The Ecologist with an article by Dr Daniel Christian Wahl, who acts as the NGO’s Head of Innovation and Design.

The article outlines Gaia Education’s global work in ESD through a variety of approaches which are designed to support a broad spectrum of participants with a diversity of ethnic, educational, and professional backgrounds. The NGO offers sustainability education through participatory Face-to-Face programmes in 42 countries, online courses in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and Project-Based Learning programmes taking place in communities worldwide. ‘The Ecologist’ is known as an established British environmental publication, first published as a journal in 1970 and continued as a magazine until 2009, and is now one of the most widely-read environmental magazines online.

Dr Wahl is an published author whose recent book ‘Designing Regenerative Cultures’ has gained international acknowledgement for its pragmatic approach to the subject, reframing and questioning the current approaches to the challenges the human kind is currently facing with deeper understanding of the possible solutions surfacing with regenerative design.
