The First Drafting Group Meeting of the GEA is an interdisciplinary expert group meeting with around 20鈥30 participants from across the world. The Group is meeting for four days in Montreal from 3 to 6 September 2019 to deliberate on the conceptual framework to guide the first GEA, which MGIEP envisions to be at least a three鈥恲ear process (2019鈥2021), and chart the next steps to make the GEA a meaningful process that will impact the post鈥2030 agenda.
This first meeting aims at:
- Developing a conceptual framework to guide the Global Education Assessment (GEA)
- Developing a tentative outline of the GEA report:
a. Identification of major themes and topics
b. Identification of Coordinating Lead Authors (CLAs) for each chapter
c. Identification of Lead Authors (LAs)
d. Developing a tentative timeline of the GEA report production, including dates of the next drafting group meeting as well as ideas and plans for raising: (i) funding for the GEA; (ii) the profile of the GEA; (iii) and engaging and addressing the needs of different stakeholder groups. - Producing a zero鈥恛rder draft of the GEA position paper (to be published as a journal article in 2020)
