HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa visits UNESCO to reinforce cooperation in environmental protection

Princess Lalla Hasnaa of Morocco, President of the Foundation Mohammed VI for environmental protection, today met the Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova, at the Organization’s Headquarters and agreed to reinforce cooperation in education for sustainable development.
During the visit, the Director-General and Princess Lalla Hasnaa of Morocco signed an agreement between UNESCO and the Mohamed VI Foundation to strengthen cooperation in education for sustainable development.
Irina Bokova welcomed the commitment of the Kingdom to meet the requirements of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Ms Bokova also voiced UNESCO’s support to the Kingdom as it prepares to host the COP22 conference on climate change, scheduled to take place in Marrakesh in November this year.
The Princess was accompanied by .Rachid Belmokhtar, Minister of Education and of Technical and Vocation,, Morocco’s Ambassador and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, Zohour Alaoui, the Head of Morocco’s Royal Academy, Abdeljalil Lahjomri who also heads Morocco’s National Commission for UNESCO, and Lahoucine Tijani, head of the Mohammed VI Foundation.
