From international instrument to enhanced readiness of AI
8:30-9:45 in the Partnerships Hub (Halle Saxe)
This panel session will offer a unique opportunity to draw valuable lessons and insights from the implementation of the Recommendation on the Ethics of AI, by bringing in strategic partners of UNESCO in this journey: DG Reform of the European Commission and the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation.
The session will also bring in panelists from champion countries such as Chile and Senegal, who are actively engaged in implementing the Recommendation, through undertaking the diagnostic tools such as the Readiness Assessment Methodology, following a multi-stakeholder approach, which contributes to the policy discourse in the country.
Through their stories, this discussion showcases the transformative journey from an international instrument to an enhanced state of AI readiness, setting a powerful example for UNESCO’s normative functions.
