Irina Bokova in Sweden to Launch UNESCO Report on World Trends in Freedom of Expression and Media Development and for new International Centre for Water Cooperation

On 25 March, Irina Bokova will be in Stockholm, Sweden, to launch the new UNESCO Report on World Trends in Freedom of Expression and Media Development, supported by Sweden.

The launch will be held at the International Press Centre with Ms Birgitta Ohlsson, Swedish Minister for Democracy and EU-affairs, and with Mr Mats Djurberg, Secretary General of the Swedish National Commission for UNESCO, followed by a roundtable discussion, examining different aspects of the Report.

On this visit, the Director-General is expected to sign an agreement between UNESCO, Sweden and the Swedish International Water Institute on the creation of the International Centre for Water Cooperation in Sweden as a Category 2 Centre, under UNESCO auspices., with Ms Léna Ek, Minister for the Environment and Mr Torgny Holmgren, Executive Director of the Swedish International Water Institute.
