Launch of the Italian edition of “Rethinking Education: towards a global common good?”

The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Brescia, Italy is organising a conference on 18 January 2019, for the launch of the Italian version of "Rethinking Education: Towards a global common good?"

The publication is a call for dialogue. It is inspired by a humanistic vision of education and development, based on respect for life and human dignity, equal rights, social justice, cultural diversity, international solidarity and shared responsibility for a sustainable future. It proposes that we consider education and knowledge as global common goods, in order to reconcile the purpose and organization of education as a collective societal endeavour in a complex world.

The publication has served as a normative reference for the vision and principles outlined in the . It is also a call for public policy dialogue around the purpose of education and the organization of learning in order to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning for all by 2030.
