Meeting with Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, met on 9 April with Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saoud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the occasion of his visit to France.
Saudi Arabia is a long-standing partner of UNESCO particularly in the fields of education, the culture of peace, intercultural and inter-religious dialogue, the strengthening of the promotion of the Arabic language, a pillar of the cultural diversity of humanity and sport.
The Director-General and the Crown Prince exchanged on the respective initiatives in the cultural field, in particular the valorization of the archaeological site of Al-Hijr (Madain Salih) within the framework of the development of the cultural and natural tourism of Al-Ula, and the reconstruction of the city of Mosul in Iraq, as well as the strengthening of their cooperation, especially for youth.
