One World

The 2023 UNESCO Concert for Peace

Under the baton of composer Sir Karl Jenkins, the World Orchestra for Peace, UNESCO Artist for Peace, has presented the premiere of Sir Karl's latest major work One World for chorus, orchestra, and soli -  as the UNESCO Concert for Peace 2023, at the Brucknerhaus Linz, Austria on 19 November 2023.

This performance brought together on stage and in the hall over 350 artists from 40 countries; solo singers, the World Orchestra for Peace, the World Choir for Peace, Hard Chor Linz, the Choir of the Musische BORG Linz, and singers from the state youth choirs of Austria. They were joined by 350 singers from the Stay at Home Choir in 30 countries, virtually participating with synchronised Audio-Visual projection, the first time such a feat has been achieved at a choral world premiere conducted by its composer.

It was livestreamed as a gift from the performers to the world - and can be shared by all via the link below.

As UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay wrote on the occasion: "UNESCO is happy to support this exceptional concert, and I express my personal thanks to Sir Karl for dedicating the work to us in recognition of more than 75 years of advocacy, through culture, for dialogue, peace, and reconciliation."
