OPPO and UNESCO strengthening sport for youth wellbeing in Mexico

OPPO and UNESCO launched a new strategic partnership in Mexico to empower youth and turn sport into a powerful social change for social inclusion and well-being.

UNESCO and OPPO begin a new collaboration to foster and empower aspiring young football players in Mexico, providing essential training equipment and OPPO's cutting-edge technology, enhancing activities across the country to turn sport into a powerful social change tool for social inclusion and wellbeing through  UNESCO’s Fit for Life programme.

The initiative will equip, in its first phase, youth players in Puebla and Chihuahua with the support of municipal institutes for Sport of these localities, which are part of the  , led by themselves and supported by UNESCO. The collaboration is not only fostering skill development but also igniting their dreams of professional careers in football, while supporting the .

“Sport is not just a competition or a game, but a means to connect and transform the lives of people and societies. Thanks to the support of committed companies like OPPO, we can expand our impact and reach more communities around the world,” noted Paola Cicero, Social and Human Sciences National Officer of UNESCO Mexico.

In line with OPPO's commitment to championing youth development and its new brand slogan, Make Your Moment, OPPO continues to amplify its support for football, as is currently doing as Official Smartphone Product Partner of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).

The sport-based flagship programme of UNESCO, Fit for Life, supports sport as a driver of resilience, cohesion, and empowerment, and pursues strengthening public policies, developing evidence, and promoting sports practice with a cross-cutting approach that links education, health, and sustainable development.
