Request for Proposal: State of the Education Report for India 2021

UNESCO New Delhi cluster office, as part of its mandate to support the South Asian member states in the development of robust, evidence-driven policies in the field of Education, has launched a series of annual State of Education Reports (SOER) for India. The 2021 State of the Education Report for India is going to focus on Teachers.

Within India's education system, teacher education and development has been identified as one of the key pillars that can improve the quality of education in India. As the country aims to promote inclusive and quality education, significant strides in improving teaching quality and increased teacher support is required.

The 2021 SOER report aims to synthesize, analyze and clearly present the best available data, evidence and research to explain progress and differences in education and to make recommendations that stimulate reflection and dialogue and thereby improve policymaking which promotes teacher development in India. Given the COVID 19 context, the report aims to explain the general context of teachers in India in times of the pandemic and will aim to highlight the challenges and trends. Finally, it will layout recommendations that can be considered by all private and government stakeholders.

UNESCO is commissioning:
