Tenth session of the Conference of Parties to the Anti-Doping Convention: 20th Anniversary
This pivotal session marks the 20th anniversary of the Convention, a milestone that highlights two decades of progress in global efforts to safeguard sport values, ethics and integrity. COP10 will serve as a platform for strategic intergovernmental dialogue, decision-making, and forward-looking actions to address emerging challenges in sport integrity governance.
Key agenda
COP10 will last for three days, focusing on several key agenda items, including:
Official celebrations of the 20th anniversary, reflecting on the Convention’s impact over the past two decades.
Discussions on statutory matters, including the Convention’s governance (including elections for the COP10 Bureau and the Approval Committee of the Anti-Doping Fund) and visibility, compliance matters and funding.
Forward-looking items addressing emerging challenges in sport integrity
Notably including the review of the Global Guidelines on Traditional Pharmacopoeia in the Context of Sport Values, Ethics, and Integrity
The Convention’s ongoing reform process aimed at enhancing its impact, sustainability, governance and effectiveness (Resolution 9CP/23). Discussions will center on the following priority areas identified by COP9:
Strengthening the Convention’s funding mechanism
Clarifying roles and responsibilities within the global sport integrity ecosystem
Establishing an oversight body to monitor the implementation of the Convention by States Parties
Creating a peaceful dispute settlement mechanism
The outcomes of COP10 will play a key role in shaping the future trajectory of global sport integrity governance, reinforcing international cooperation, peace and sustainable development.
Engage in the Convention's 20th anniversary
States Parties can share proposals for the celebration of the Convention’s 20th anniversary through an online form.
States Parties are also invited to demonstrate their commitment to sport values, ethics and integrity through a contribution to the Anti-Doping Fund of a minimum 1% of the assessed contribution to UNESCO's regular budget. A preliminary indication of support can be provided through a dedicated online form.
