Travel to Learn Arts and Crafts

Since 2010, UNESCO goes into partnership with the French Foundation 芦 Fondation Culture & Diversit茅 禄 for an international travel programme for students studying arts and crafts.

Students who participated in the programme 鈥溾 in 2011-2012 will present the results of this initiative at UNESCO from 8 to 12 July 2013 (Hall Room X).

Before the closing of the exhibition, the representative of the Director General and Mr. Ladreit de Lacharri猫re, President of the Fondation Culture & Diversit茅 and Goodwill Ambassador for UNESCO will present the certificates to the laureates 2012-2013 edition of the programme.

This programme enables arts and crafts students coming from disadvantaged backgrounds to complete a study tour abroad and to benefit from new skills of local craftspeople while also sharing their own experience with others. Therefore it allows young French scholarship students nearing the end of their studies to discover the know-how of craftspeople in developing countries; and it allows students from developing countries to discover the know-how of French craftspeople.

This programme helps students launch their professional career by enabling them to:

  • work in a professional environment ;
  • acquire new skills;
  • gain experiences abroad ;
  • benefit from a creative and innovative professional experience  ;
  • develop a professional network;
  • participate and present their work at international fairs.

In addition to the partnership with the , this programme is implemented with the support of several educational institutions.
