UNESCO Almaty Initiated Discussions on Relevant World Heritage Issues in Kazakhstan

The coordination and consultation meeting between the UNESCO Almaty Cluster Office and the authorized and responsible institutions for World Heritage management on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in Almaty on 30 June 2023.
During the meeting, participants discussed relevant management issues, capacity development and inter-institutional cooperation in the field of World Heritage. Participants also discussed recent decisions of the World Heritage Committee on three following World Heritage properties in Kazakhstan:

In addition, representatives from UNESCO Almaty briefed participants about the interrelations between the UNESCO Culture Conventions (, , , and ) as well as the Office's forthcoming plans for the World Heritage.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ISESCO, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National World Heritage Committee, and the following organizations involved in World Heritage management in Kazakhstan:
- The State Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum "Azret-Sultan" involved in the management of the "" property.
- The State Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve-Museum "Tanbaly" involved in the management of the "" property.
- The Museum-Reserve "Monuments of Ancient Taraz", involved in the management of the five components of the "" property, Aktobe, Akyrtas, Kostobe, Kulan and Ornek, and the State Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum "Yesik", involved in the management of the Talgar component of the same property.
- Aksu-Zhabagly State Nature Reserve, Karatau State Nature Reserve and Sairam-Ugam State National Nature Park involved in the management of the "" property.
