UNESCO and the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand call for an end to impunity for crimes against journalists

To mark the decade since UNESCO commemorated the first International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists (United Nations, 2 November 2014), the UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok (UNESCO Bangkok) in partnership with the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Thailand (FCCT) is inviting journalists, civil society groups, FCCT members and the public to an evening of reflection on the dangerous realities that journalists face in their pursuit of the truth.
The event will feature a panel discussion with prominent journalists and human rights defenders from across South-East Asia, who will share their experiences and propose strategies to address the persistent threats to journalists and uphold the public’s right to know.
Central to this discussion will be UNESCO’s 2024 theme The Safety of Journalists in Crises and Emergencies.
