On December 12, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation Mr. Sharipov, awarded Ms. Sara Noshadi, UNESCO's Representative in Uzbekistan, the Excellence in Education badge. This award recognizes UNESCO’s outstanding contributions to advancing secondary specialized and vocational education in the country.

The award celebrates UNESCO's important role in enhancing the quality of education in Uzbekistan, particularly in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). 91Âé¶¹¹ú²ú¾«Æ·×ÔÅÄ been a key partner of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation (MHESI) in driving forward comprehensive TVET reforms. 

This includes supporting the development of a national TVET strategy and ensuring the establishment of a robust quality assurance system within the national qualifications framework, which guarantees the recognition and relevance of students' qualifications.

"Excellence in Education" Badge

In addition to strategic reforms, UNESCO provides targeted support in teacher professional development, focusing on scaling up training programs through the creation of Centers of Excellence. These efforts aim to enhance educators' skills in assessment, digital competencies, and modern teaching methodologies. 91Âé¶¹¹ú²ú¾«Æ·×ÔÅÄ also played a vital role in developing national occupational standards, competency-based curricula, and innovative teaching resources aligned with labor market needs.

This recognition underscores UNESCO’s enduring commitment to supporting Uzbekistan’s education system and fostering impactful reforms for the benefit of students and educators across the country.

TVET Students

The current UNESCO’s program in TVET in Uzbekistan is almost entirely funded the European Union and runs from 2020 to 2026.
