Webinar 1: Education for sustainable development and the ecosystemic role of mangroves

Mangroves are among the most productive ecosystems in the biosphere, contributing to well-being, food security, and the protection of coastal communities. Likewise, they are key to addressing the challenges of climate change due to their ability to capture and store carbon, their contribution to coastal protection, resilience, and the maintenance of critical habitats for biodiversity. In Latin America and the Caribbean, mangroves are a valuable resource for local communities, including Afro-descendant communities and the indigenous peoples who inhabit them.
