World Council of Comparative Education Societies (WCCES 2013)
WCCES 2013 will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 24 to 28 June 2013.
A distinguished panel from UNESCO and UNESCO Chairs, covering a range of specializations and geographical regions, will convene in Buenos Aires for the triennial WCCES under the theme 鈥淣ew Times, New Voices. Comparative Perspectives for Education鈥.
Panel 2 is chaired by UNESCO鈥檚 International Bureau of Education and analyzes Paulo Freire鈥檚 literacy training experience. The panel will explore the influence that his work has had on the relationship between democracy, citizenship, education, and social transformation today.
Panel 3 is devoted to revisiting the 1996 Delors Report and is being organized jointly by the UNESCO Chair of Comparative Education at the University of Hong Kong and UNESCO Education Research and Foresight. The panel will revisit the Delors Report and make recommendations on the significance of the four pillars of education in a changing world. The summary outcomes will provide a direction for future research and programme work in this field.
